David Dalglish is an American epic fantasy author, born in 1984, who earned a mathematics degree from Missouri Southern State University before becoming one of self-publishing's early breakout success stories. After self-publishing his debut, The Weight of Blood, in 2010, he released more than a dozen novels within a few years and sold over 200,000 e-books, which led to a traditional deal with Orbit Books for the Shadowdance series and a contract with Amazon's 47North imprint for The Breaking World. He is best known for the interconnected World of Dezrel novels, including The Half-Orcs, Shadowdance, and Paladins, and for the more recent Vagrant Gods trilogy. Critics have praised his brisk pacing and genre-savvy worldbuilding; he lives with his family in South Carolina.
