David Dvorkin

David Dvorkin is an American writer born in 1943 in Reading, Berkshire, England, who worked as an aerospace engineer at NASA during the Apollo program and later at Martin Marietta on the Viking Mars program before turning to software development and full-time writing. He has written widely across science fiction, horror, and alternate history, and is particularly known for his Star Trek novels, including The Trellisane Confrontation and The Captains' Honor, the latter co-written with his son Daniel Dvorkin. He also created the vampire-themed Prisoner of the Blood series (Insatiable, Unquenchable) and wrote Time for Sherlock Holmes, a genre mashup pairing Arthur Conan Doyle's detective with time travel. Across a long and varied career, Dvorkin has moved fluidly between licensed tie-in fiction and original speculative novels.
