David Wood

David Wood is an American author from Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a USA Today bestseller writing action-adventure and speculative fiction he describes as "classic adventure for the modern reader." He is best known for the Dane Maddock Adventures, a long-running series blending archaeology, mythology, and cryptozoology across dozens of novels, alongside related prequel and spin-off lines including Dane Maddock Origins and Dane Maddock Elementals. Writing as David Debord, he also authors The Absent Gods, a secondary-world fantasy series. A member of International Thriller Writers and co-host of the Authorcast podcast, Wood cites influences including Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels, James Rollins, and Preston & Child's Pendergast series, all reflected in his own blend of historical mystery and high-adventure plotting.
