Deborah Beale

Deborah Beale (born 1958 in London) is an English author known for The Ordinary Farm Adventures, a young-adult fantasy series she co-writes with her husband, American fantasy novelist Tad Williams. The series, comprising The Dragons of Ordinary Farm (2009) and The Secrets of Ordinary Farm (2011), follows two city siblings sent to stay on their eccentric great-uncle's farm, where the ordinary-seeming animals turn out to be dragons, griffins, and other magical creatures in disguise. Beale's work with Williams reflects a shift toward younger readers within a career otherwise built around collaborative fantasy fiction. A further volume in the series, tentatively titled The Heirs of Ordinary Farm, has been announced but has not yet been published.
