Douglas Hulick

Douglas Hulick (born 1965 in Fargo, North Dakota) is an American fantasy writer. He holds a bachelor's degree in history and English from the University of Illinois and a master's in medieval history from New Mexico State University, and worked a series of odd jobs before turning to fiction after discovering a dictionary of historical criminal slang. That interest shaped his Tales of the Kin series, sword-and-sorcery novels narrated by a career criminal navigating a city's underworld factions. His debut, Among Thieves, was a finalist for the Kitschies Golden Tentacle Award for best debut novel, and he followed it with the sequel, Sworn in Steel.
