Elisabeth Waters

Elisabeth Waters is an American writer and editor, born in 1952 in Providence, Rhode Island, closely associated with the literary circle around Marion Zimmer Bradley. After Bradley's death, Waters took over as editor of the long-running Sword and Sorceress fantasy anthology series beginning with volume XVIII (2001), eventually editing seventeen consecutive volumes for Norilana Books and the Marion Zimmer Bradley Literary Works Trust. She has also contributed original fiction to Bradley's Darkover anthologies and to Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar and Elemental Masters shared-world collections, including the story "A Dragon in Distress," co-written with Lackey. Waters remains associated with the small-press fantasy-anthology tradition that grew out of Bradley's original series, continuing to write and edit within that world.
