Elizabeth H. Boyer

Elizabeth H. Boyer is an American fantasy author, born in 1952 in Idaho, who studied English literature and Scandinavian mythology at Brigham Young University. She published the bulk of her fiction during the 1980s and early 1990s and has since stopped writing, living on a farm near Atlanta. Her work draws heavily on Norse mythology, populating heroic quest narratives with light and dark elves, dwarves, trolls, and wizards. Her most acclaimed series, the World of the Alfar, comprises four novels published between 1980 and 1983, and she followed it with the four-book Wizard's War sequence. Her final series, sometimes marketed as Skyla and elsewhere as Clan of the Warlord, was received as less ambitious than her earlier work, though her Alfar novels remain her most enduringly popular contribution to Norse-inflected fantasy.
