Ellen Guon

Ellen Guon (later known professionally as Ellen Guon Beeman) is an American fantasy and science fiction writer born in 1964. After beginning her career writing for animated television series such as Jem and MoonDreamers, she turned to prose fiction, collaborating with Mercedes Lackey on the urban fantasy Bedlam's Bard series, beginning with Knight of Ghosts and Shadows and Summoned to Tourney and continuing solo with Bedlam Boyz, blending contemporary Los Angeles settings with bardic magic. She and Lackey also wrote entries in the Wing Commander novels tied to the video game franchise, including Freedom Flight. Guon later moved into video games, working on the Wing Commander series at Origin Systems and dozens of other titles, and was named among the games industry's most influential women in 2006. She now teaches at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
