Emmy Laybourne

Emmy Laybourne is an American actress and author. Before turning to fiction, she worked as a performer, appearing in the film Superstar (1999) and on television series including DAG, and co-wrote the animated feature Kung Fu Magoo. She is best known for the young adult Monument 14 trilogy, comprising Monument 14 (2012), Sky on Fire (2013), and Savage Drift (2014), which follows teenagers sheltering in a superstore after a catastrophic storm and chemical spill. She followed the trilogy with the Berserker series, beginning with Berserker (2017) and continuing with Ransacker (2019), a historical fantasy about a Norwegian-American family carrying an ancestral berserker gift, and the standalone novel Sweet (2016).
