Eric Walters

Eric Walters is a Canadian author of young-adult fiction and picture books, born in Toronto in 1957. A former elementary school teacher, he began writing to engage reluctant readers in his own classroom and has since published more than 100 novels, many addressing survival, social issues, and history for young readers. In speculative fiction he is known for The Rule of Three, an EMP-driven societal-collapse trilogy, the near-future Teen Astronauts series following young trainees bound for Mars, and the post-apocalyptic End of Days. He has won the Ontario Library Association's Silver Birch and Red Maple Awards three times each. Walters has also undertaken adventures tied to his books, including walking across the Sahara and climbing Kilimanjaro, and co-founded a charity in Kenya. He lives in Guelph, Ontario.
