Gareth Worthington

Gareth Worthington is a British author born in 1980 in Plymouth, Devon, who holds a PhD in endocrinology alongside a marine-biology degree and an executive MBA, and works in the pharmaceutical industry's medical affairs field. A martial artist trained in Jeet Kune Do and Muay Thai with research experience tagging sharks, he channels those interests into science-driven thrillers and dystopian science fiction. His Children of the Fifth Sun series draws on Aztec history and genetic experimentation, while It Takes Death to Reach a Star follows a post-collapse fight for survival tangled with cosmic myth. His work has been named a Dragon Award finalist and won an IPPY Award for science fiction. He is a member of International Thriller Writers and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
