Gary McMahon

Gary McMahon is a British horror author born in 1969, associated with a wave of contemporary British writers whom fellow horror novelist Ramsey Campbell has described as developing a consciously political strain of horror fiction that examines the legacy of Thatcher-era Britain. His fiction includes the Thomas Usher sequence, following a haunted investigator who can see the dead, opening with Pretty Little Dead Things and Dead Bad Things, and the Concrete Grove trilogy, a contemporary horror series set on a bleak English housing estate beginning with The Concrete Grove and continuing through Silent Voices. McMahon has also written extensively for the Tomes of the Dead zombie-horror line and published short fiction across numerous horror anthologies, including a story selected for The Year's Best Dark Fantasy & Horror.
