Gene Doucette

Gene Doucette (born 1968) is an American science fiction and fantasy author based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, who has published more than twenty-five novels, novellas, and short stories as a hybrid traditionally- and self-published writer. He is best known for the Immortal series, beginning with Immortal (2010), which follows a six-thousand-year-old immortal man navigating the modern world while hiding his nature, and for standalone science fiction published by Harper Voyager, including The Spaceship Next Door (2015), about a small Massachusetts town living beside a silent alien spacecraft, and its sequel The Apocalypse Seven (2021). His short fiction has appeared in Lightspeed Magazine and in anthologies including The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy and The Year's Best Science Fiction. Doucette also writes screenplays; his script The Last Flight of Pelican Six was optioned for development in 2024.
