Genevieve Gornichec

Genevieve Gornichec is an American author from Northeast Ohio who holds a BA in history from Ohio State University and has pursued graduate study in Viking and medieval Norse studies at the University of Iceland, where she lives in Reykjavik. Before her novels drawing on Norse mythology, she contributed early tie-in fiction to the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, including Walk Among Us and A Sheep Among Wolves. She then published the historical fantasy The Witch's Heart, a retelling centered on the sorceress Angrboda that was translated into more than a dozen languages, and its follow-up The Weaver and the Witch Queen, centered on the historical figure Gunnhild, Mother of Kings. Her work is known for grounding Norse myth and Viking-age history in richly interior, character-driven narrative.
