Glenda Larke is an Australian fantasy author from Western Australia who studied history and education at the University of Western Australia and taught English in Austria, Tunisia, and Malaysia before returning to writing full time. She published her debut novel, Havenstar, in 1998 under the name Glenda Noramly, then established her career with fantasy trilogies including The Isles of Glory, The Mirage Makers, and The Watergivers, also known as The Stormlord Trilogy, which follows a world shaped by water scarcity and rainlord magic. Her later Forsaken Lands trilogy continued this focus on environmentally shaped fantasy societies. Larke has received numerous Aurealis Award nominations for Best Fantasy Novel, and her novel The Lascar's Dagger won the Ditmar Award, while The Watergivers won the Sara Douglass Book Series Award.
