Greg Trine

Greg Trine is an American author of children's and young-adult fiction who lives on the California coast and regularly visits schools to talk with students about reading and writing. He is best known for the Melvin Beederman Superhero series, eight illustrated chapter books published by Henry Holt beginning in 2006 and illustrated by Rhode Montijo, following a bumbling but well-meaning superhero navigating comic mishaps. He followed it with The Adventures of Jo Schmo, a Junior Library Guild-selected series illustrated by Frank Montijo, and has written standalone titles including Willy Maykit in Space, which received a Sunshine State Young Readers Award nomination. Trine has also written graphic novels under the pen name Doug Paleo. His fiction is characterized by broad slapstick humor aimed at young, reluctant readers.
