Gretchen McNeil

Gretchen McNeil is an American author of young-adult horror and thriller fiction, born in 1983 in San Francisco. Her novel Don't Get Mad was adapted into the television series Get Even, which premiered on BBC iPlayer in February 2020 before being acquired by Netflix for international distribution later that year. She is also known for the #MurderTrending series, a young-adult thriller sequence set on a dystopian reality-competition show where convicted criminals are hunted for entertainment, beginning with #MurderTrending and continuing through #MurderFunding and #NoEscape. Her earlier standalone novels include 3:59, a body-swap thriller, and Possess, which centers on a teenage exorcist. McNeil's fiction consistently combines high-concept premises with fast-paced horror and thriller mechanics aimed at teenage readers.
