Harmon Cooper is an American author who began as a musician before turning to fiction, writing what he has described as an accidental LitRPG debut, The Feedback Loop, in 2015. He grew up in Austin, Texas, later lived in Mongolia on a Fulbright scholarship, studied Tibetan in South Asia, and spent time in Japan before settling near the sea. His prolific catalog spans progression fantasy, post-apocalyptic westerns, and cultivation fiction, including the bestsellers Pilgrim, War Priest, and Cowboy Necromancer, and the Aetherforged series co-written with Luke Chmilenko. His audiobook Death's Mantle won an AudioFile Earphones Award, and Sacred Cat Island won an Independent Audiobook Award. His current series, Welcome to the Rift, follows an isekai'd temp worker slaying monsters to pay off his debt.
