Henry Kuttner

Henry Kuttner (1915-1958) was an American author of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, active from the mid-1930s until his death, and one of the notable pulp-era writers associated with Weird Tales. Born in Los Angeles, he sold his first story in 1936 and went on to write extensively both solo and, after their marriage in 1940, in close collaboration with fellow writer C. L. Moore -- a partnership so seamless that even they sometimes could not say who had written which passages. Kuttner is remembered for the sword-and-sorcery Elak of Atlantis stories, the comic Gallegher inventor tales, and the time-travel novella Vintage Season, and he published extensively under pseudonyms including Lewis Padgett and Lawrence O'Donnell. Writers including Ray Bradbury, Marion Zimmer Bradley, and Roger Zelazny cited him as a formative influence.
