Ian Green

Ian Green is a Scottish author of fantasy and science fiction, born in Aberdeen. His Rotstorm sequence, beginning with The Gauntlet and the Fist Beneath, follows a grieving mother searching for her lost daughter across a violently contested land threatened by a spreading supernatural blight, continuing through The Gauntlet and the Burning Blade and The Gauntlet and the Broken Chain. He also wrote the near-future novel Extremophile, set in a climate-ravaged, dystopian London, following a genetically augmented protagonist drawn into disruptive activism by environmentalist allies. Green's work is noted for blending grim, richly populated fantasy violence with pointed contemporary concerns about ecological collapse and biotechnology.
