J. C. Cervantes

J. C. Cervantes is an American author of middle-grade and young-adult fiction who also publishes as Jennifer Cervantes. Born and raised in Southern California, she now lives in New Mexico. She is best known for the Zane Obispo series, beginning with The Storm Runner, which draws on Mexican and Maya mythology, as well as the Shadow Bruja duology and the Daggers of Ire series. Her books have been published in more than a dozen countries and have appeared on national best and notable lists from the American Booksellers Association, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon. Cervantes has received multiple honors, including the New Mexico Book Award and the Zia Book Award. When she isn't writing, she spends her time haunting bookstores in search of magic in unexpected corners.
