J. C. M. Berne

J. C. M. Berne is an American author of science fiction and fantasy known for the Hybrid Helix series, a space opera following Rohan, a half-human, half-alien hero with superheroic strength navigating a vast interstellar empire; the sequence includes Wistful Ascending, Return of the Griffin, Blood Reunion, and Shadow of Hyperion. He has also written Partial Function, a wuxia-inflected epic fantasy about a monster-hunting swordswoman defending her family. Berne self-publishes his novels and has built his readership largely online through his website and newsletter, which offers bonus fiction such as the novella Foreign Powers set in the Hybrid Helix universe.
