J. F. Penn

J. F. Penn is the fiction pen name of Joanna Penn, a British author who spent thirteen years as a business IT consultant before becoming a full-time independent author in 2011; she has since sold more than a million books in 176 countries. As J. F. Penn she writes thrillers and dark fantasy, including the Mapwalkers trilogy — Map of Shadows, Map of Plagues, and Map of the Impossible — which follows a mapmaker who can travel into hand-drawn worlds, and the shared American Demon Hunters series, beginning with Risen Gods. Her thriller Destroyer of Worlds was a finalist for the International Thriller Writers Award for Best Ebook Original. Penn is also known as a podcaster and commentator on independent publishing, work for which Digital Book World named her Publishing Commentator of the Year in 2018.
