J. F. Rivkin

J. F. Rivkin is a fantasy and science fiction author whose primary work is the Silverglass series -- Silverglass, Web of Wind, Witch of Rhostshyl, and Mistress of Ambiguities -- an adventure-fantasy sequence following the exploits of a mercenary swordswoman and her companions through unstable magical borderlands. Rivkin also wrote The Summerlands books and contributed to the Runesword series, as well as Tyrannosaurus Rex, part of an Age of Dinosaurs line blending prehistoric adventure with science fiction. Publishing chiefly through the late 1980s and into the mid-1990s, Rivkin's fiction is characteristic of the era's sword-and-sorcery boom, favoring episodic adventure, morally ambiguous magic-users, and richly imagined secondary worlds built for series continuation rather than single-volume closure.
