J. L. Bourne

J. L. Bourne is the author of the Day by Day Armageddon series, a zombie-apocalypse franchise that began as a self-published, journal-style novel in 2004 and grew into a multi-book series including Beyond Exile, Shattered Hourglass, and the spin-off Tomorrow War and Trilobyte books. Told in first-person diary entries, the original novel's format helped distinguish it within the crowded 2000s zombie-fiction boom and built a large enough readership to support traditional reissues and sequels over more than a decade. Bourne's sustained output across several linked series has made Day by Day Armageddon one of the more durable self-published-turned-mainstream horror franchises of its generation.
