J. Steven York

J. Steven York is an American science fiction and fantasy author born in 1957 in rural southeast Alabama. He began his career writing nonfiction before selling his first story, "Starbird," in 1989, and worked as a game writer for Dynamix and Sierra Entertainment on titles including MissionForce: Cyberstorm. He has since become known chiefly as a writer of media tie-in fiction, contributing to the Generation X, MechWarrior: Dark Age, Age of Conan (as the Anok, Heretic of Stygia trilogy), and Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers lines, the latter co-written with his wife, Christina F. York. He has also written Bolo novellas with Dean Wesley Smith. York lives on the Oregon coast and continues writing through his own small press, Tsunami Ridge Publishing.
