J. Thorn

J. Thorn is an American author of dark and post-apocalyptic fiction who grew up in a working-class Irish Catholic family and was the first in his family to attend college. He has written openly about decades of struggling with alcohol addiction before recovery, and describes his mission as using dark fiction to help readers process difficult experience. Thorn is best known for the American Demon Hunters series and for co-writing, with fellow horror author Zach Bohannon, the post-apocalyptic Night, Dawn, and Dusk novels and their Invasion, Encounter, and Arrival sequels, part of a shared survival-horror universe centered on catastrophic outbreak and societal collapse. His other work includes the horror-tinged Dustfall series. Thorn describes himself as obsessed with heavy metal, horror films, and technology, driven by a mission to connect with readers through dark, honest storytelling.
