Jack Thorne

Jack Thorne is a British playwright and screenwriter born in 1978 in Bristol, England. After studying politics at Cambridge, he built a prolific career spanning theatre, television, and film, known for a distinctive blend of social realism and formal invention. His television work includes This Is England, National Treasure, His Dark Materials, and the Emmy-winning Adolescence, while his screenplays include Wonder and Enola Holmes. In the catalog he is represented by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the stage play he co-wrote with J.K. Rowling and director John Tiffany as a continuation of the Harry Potter story a generation on, following Harry's son Albus. The play won the 2018 Tony Award for Best Play and became a worldwide theatrical phenomenon, later published as a script book. Thorne has also won multiple BAFTAs and Evening Standard Theatre Awards across his career.
