Jacqueline Lichtenberg

Jacqueline Lichtenberg is an American science fiction writer, born in Flushing, Queens, in 1942 and trained as a chemist at the University of California, Berkeley. Mentored early on by Marion Zimmer Bradley, she has published steadily since her 1974 debut novel House of Zeor, which launched the Sime~Gen universe -- a long-running series, co-developed with collaborator Jean Lorrah, exploring an alternate humanity split into two symbiotic, psychically linked subspecies. She has also written the Dushau trilogy and, under the pen name Daniel R. Kerns, the novels Hero and Border Dispute. A long-time figure in media fandom, she wrote some of the earliest Star Trek fan fiction (the Kraith stories) and co-authored the early fan-culture study Star Trek Lives!.
