James Lovegrove

James Lovegrove is a British author born in 1965 in Lewes, East Sussex, who studied English literature at Oxford before debuting with The Hope in 1990. He is best known for the Pantheon series (The Age of Ra, The Age of Zeus, The Age of Odin), military science fiction in which real-world mythological pantheons wage war on modern Earth, with The Age of Odin becoming a New York Times bestseller. He has also written extensively in the Sherlock Holmes pastiche tradition, including a 'New Adventures' series and the Cthulhu Casebooks, which merge Arthur Conan Doyle's detective with H.P. Lovecraft's mythos, and has contributed licensed Firefly novels, one of which won the 2020 Dragon Award for Best Media Tie-In Novel. Lovegrove has been shortlisted for the Arthur C. Clarke and John W. Campbell Memorial Awards.
