James R. Tuck is an American writer of urban fantasy and horror fiction, born in 1970 in Marietta, Georgia. He is best known for the Deacon Chalk: Occult Bounty-Hunter series, which follows a monster-hunter navigating a hidden supernatural underworld of vampires, werewolves, and darker things beneath the modern South. Tuck has also written extensively in shared universes, contributing tie-in fiction for Marvel (including Venom: Lethal Protector), for the DC Universe's Arrow television series, and for other licensed properties. With Debbie Viguié, he co-wrote the Robin Hood: Demon's Bane trilogy, a supernatural reworking of the Robin Hood legend that began with Mark of the Black Arrow. His short fiction has appeared in numerous horror and urban fantasy anthologies.
