Jane Baker

Jane Baker, born Iris E. E. Baker in 1924 and who died in 2014, was an English television writer who, with her husband Pip Baker, formed the professional writing team Pip and Jane Baker. Active together from 1961 to 2000, they are best known for their Doctor Who scripts of the 1980s, including The Mark of the Rani, portions of The Trial of a Time Lord, and Time and the Rani, several of which they novelized for Target Books alongside gamebook adventures. Their earlier credits include the film Captain Nemo and the Underwater City and episodes of the science-fiction series Space: 1999, and they later created the children's series Watt on Earth. The Bakers remain among the more prolific husband-and-wife writing partnerships in British genre television.
