Janeen Webb

Janeen Webb is an Australian writer, critic, and editor working mainly in science fiction and fantasy, born in Newcastle, New South Wales, in 1951. She studied at the University of Newcastle, earning a doctorate in literature in 1983, and later taught at the Australian Catholic University in Melbourne, where she became an associate professor. From 1987 to 1991 she served on the editorial collective of Australian Science Fiction Review and later sat on the advisory board of Science Fiction Studies. She is best known for co-editing, with her husband Jack Dann, the anthology Dreaming Down-Under, a landmark collection of Australian speculative fiction that won the World Fantasy Award for Best Anthology and the 1999 Ditmar Award. Beyond editing, Webb has published scholarly work on genre fiction and continues to write and review within the Australian science fiction community.
