Janet Edwards

Janet Edwards is an English science fiction author who earned a degree in mathematics from Oxford University and spent years writing technical documents before turning to fiction full-time. She debuted with Earth Girl (2012), opening a young adult trilogy about a girl born unable to travel through the portals that let most of humanity live among the stars, forcing her to fight for a place in a society that treats her as disabled; the trilogy continues through Earth Star and Earth Flight. She also writes the Hive Mind series and the Scavenger Alliance/Exodus novels, along with numerous standalone stories set across a shared future-history universe of colonized worlds. Edwards has said she read voraciously as a child, gravitating especially to science fiction and fantasy. She lives in England, is married with a son, and maintains an extensive personal library.
