Jaye Wells

Jaye Wells is an American author of urban fantasy based in Texas. Before turning to fiction full time she worked as a magazine editor and freelance journalist. She is best known for the Sabina Kane series, published by Orbit Books, which follows a half-vampire, half-mage assassin across six novels and several novellas. She followed it with the Prospero's War series, an urban fantasy built around magic as an illicit drug trade, centered on a cop who investigates spell-slinging crime, and wrote The Murdoch Vampires duology under the pen name Kate Eden. Wells has built a reputation for blending noir sensibilities with fast-paced supernatural plotting, populating her novels with morally compromised protagonists operating in cities where magic and crime are deeply entangled.
