Jean Johnson

Jean Johnson is an American author of military science fiction, fantasy, and romance, born in 1972. She is best known for the Theirs Not to Reason Why military science fiction series, which follows psychic soldier Ia through a war against an insectoid alien threat in novels including A Soldier's Duty, and for its connected sequences The First Salik War and Sons of Destiny. Johnson also writes fantasy romance, including the Guardians of Destiny books such as The Sword, The Mage, and The Cat, and contributed to the shared-world Flame Sea. Her work spans traditionally published military science fiction praised for disciplined worldbuilding alongside lighter fantasy-romance series.
