Jeffrey Cranor is an American writer and podcaster who co-created Welcome to Night Vale with Joseph Fink in 2012, chronicling a fictional desert town where every conspiracy theory is true. Before Night Vale, he contributed to Commonplace Books, an early collaborative fiction project inspired by H. P. Lovecraft. With Fink, he co-wrote the Night Vale novels Welcome to Night Vale, It Devours!, and The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives in Your Home, and co-founded the podcast network Night Vale Presents. Cranor also writes and hosts other audio projects under that banner, including the anthology drama Within the Wires and the podcast Start with This, which examines the craft of writing.
