Jen Williams

Jen Williams is a British author of fantasy and crime fiction based in Bristol. Her debut, The Copper Promise (2014), launched a swashbuckling epic-fantasy series following a trio of mercenaries who awaken an ancient threat in a forgotten ruin, and was shortlisted for the British Fantasy Society's Best Newcomer award. She won the British Fantasy Award for Best Fantasy Novel twice, for The Ninth Rain (2017) and The Bitter Twins (2018), both part of her Winnowing Flame trilogy, and again in 2024 for Talonsister, part of her Talon duology. Williams has also written contemporary crime novels, including Dog Rose Dirt (2021) and The Hungry Dark (2024), and co-founded the Super Relaxed Fantasy Club literary events series with fellow author Den Patrick.
