Jenn Reese

Jenn Reese is an American author born in 1970, known for young adult and adult speculative fiction. She began publishing genre short fiction in 2000, including the story "Valkyrie" in an anthology edited by Marion Zimmer Bradley, and later collected linked tales in Tales of the Chinese Zodiac and the martial-arts fantasy novel Jade Tiger. She is best known for the Above World trilogy — Above World, Mirage, and Horizon — a young adult science fiction series set in a future ocean world where genetically engineered human societies, including a mermaid-like people, confront ecological collapse and a rising cyborg threat. Reese's fiction consistently pairs adventure plotting with themes of environmental change and found family.
