Jennifer Rardin

Jennifer Rardin (April 28, 1965 – September 20, 2010) was an American urban fantasy author born in Evansville, Indiana. She graduated from Casey-Westfield High School and earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from Eastern Illinois University in 1987, having begun writing at age twelve and completed three unpublished novels before her breakthrough. Influenced by Laurell K. Hamilton, she launched the Jaz Parks series in 2007 with Once Bitten, Twice Shy, following a CIA assassin partnered with a centuries-old vampire; the series ultimately ran to eight novels along with several novellas and short stories. Rardin, who was married with two children, died in 2010 at forty-five, with the final Jaz Parks entries published posthumously the following year.
