Jenny McLachlan is a British author of children's and young adult fiction. After studying English at university, she worked as a secondary school English teacher, an experience that fed her interest in reading and eventually in writing for young people. Her debut novel, the romantic comedy Flirty Dancing, launched the four-book Friends Like Us series with Bloomsbury after she attended the Winchester Writers' Festival in 2013. She is best known for The Land of Roar, a fantasy-adventure trilogy involving dragons and a hidden magical realm, recognized on the USBBY Outstanding International Books List. She has also written the Dead Good Detectives mystery series and older-reader novels including Stargazing for Beginners and Truly, Wildly, Deeply.
