Jenny T. Colgan is the name used by the bestselling Scottish novelist Jenny Colgan for her science-fiction and media tie-in work, most notably a long run of Doctor Who fiction. Born in 1972 in Prestwick, Ayrshire, and educated at the University of Edinburgh, she worked in the health service before publishing her first novel in 2000 and going on to become one of Britain's most popular writers of romantic comedy, under both her own name and the pen name Jane Beaton. As J. T. Colgan, she has written Doctor Who novelizations, short fiction, and anthology contributions including Dark Horizons, The Legends of River Song, and the Christmas novelization Resistance Is Futile. She has won the Romantic Novel of the Year Award and the Romantic Novelists' Association's comedy prize, and lives between France and London.
