Jessica Townsend

Jessica Townsend is an Australian author born in 1985 in Caloundra, Queensland. Before writing full-time, she spent eight years as a copywriter and worked for five years at Australia Zoo, including editing its children's magazine Crikey! She is best known for the Nevermoor series, beginning with Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow (2017), which follows a girl cursed to die on her eleventh birthday who is instead spirited away into a magical hidden city; the sequels include Wundersmith, Hollowpox, and Silverborn. Her debut won the Waterstones Children's Book Prize for Younger Fiction and Book of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards, and film rights have been acquired by 20th Century Fox with Drew Goddard attached as screenwriter.
