John J. Spearman

John J. Spearman is an American author of fantasy and military science fiction who works as a Latin teacher and coach at a New England boarding school. He lives on the coast of Maine with his wife, four sons, and five dogs. Across roughly twenty novels, he has built several series featuring recurring military and adventure protagonists, including the Dexter Falk fantasy books, the Lieutenant Commander Pike and Commander Andrews military science-fiction sequences, and Captain Halberd, part of his Orion Spur setting, alongside the fantasy series FitzDuncan. His publisher, Aethon Books, has been relaunching his science-fiction titles for wider audiences, and his fiction is consistently built around clever rogues, slow-burn romance, and high-stakes military action across both fantasy and space-opera settings.
