John L. Lansdale

John L. Lansdale is an American writer and the younger brother of celebrated horror and crime author Joe R. Lansdale, with whom he has frequently collaborated. Their joint novel Hell's Bounty is a horror-western set in the town of Falling Rock, following a bounty hunter through supernatural violence on the frontier. The brothers have also worked together adapting fiction for comics, including an IDW Publishing adaptation of a Robert Bloch short story. Lansdale's work sits within the same East Texas-inflected tradition of pulp horror and hardboiled crime that runs through his brother's writing, blending western tropes with horror set pieces. He is based in Texas.
