John Lambshead is a British author of military science fiction and a game designer, known for collaborating with major American genre writers. He co-wrote Into the Hinterlands and Into the Maelstrom, part of David Drake's Citizen series, and Venus, Mars and Hell with Eric Flint, both published through Baen Books, a house that regularly pairs established authors with co-writers on shared series. Lambshead's own background includes a long career in wargame design; he co-designed the board game Blitzkrieg, reviewed tabletop games for White Dwarf magazine, and co-authored Tabletop Wargames: A Designers' and Writers' Handbook with Rick Priestley. His fiction combines hard military detail with the collaborative, shared-universe storytelling common to Baen's stable of writers.
