John Meaney

John Meaney is a British science fiction author born in 1957 in London, who studied physics and computer science and holds a black belt in shotokan karate. His 1998 debut To Hold Infinity announced a writer interested in hard science fused with strange, singular ideas, and he followed it with the Nulapeiron Sequence (Paradox, Context, Resolution), a far-future trilogy narrated by a paraplegic revolutionary navigating a rigidly stratified society. He is also known for the Tristopolis novels (Bone Song, Dark Blood, Tristopolis Requiem), a noir fantasy series set in a gothic city powered by the bones of the dead, and for the Ragnarok trilogy (Absorption, Transmission, Resonance). Writing as Thomas Blackthorne, he has also published the Edge duology. The Times once called him 'the first important new SF writer of the 21st century.'
