John Oram

John Oram was the pen name of John Oram Thomas, a British writer better known for his nonfiction, including The Giant Killers (1975), an account of the Danish resistance movement during the Second World War. Writing as John Oram, he contributed two tie-in novels to the paperback line based on the 1960s television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E.: The Copenhagen Affair (1965) and The Stone-Cold Dead in the Market Affair (1966), both published by Ace Books alongside similar work by other contract writers of the era. The novels send agents Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin up against Cold War-flavored criminal schemes in the pulp-adventure style the series was known for, extending the show's world into print for its television audience.
