Jon Cronshaw

Jon Cronshaw is a British author of fantasy and speculative fiction who previously worked as a journalist and political reporter for The Guardian and the Daily Mail before becoming a full-time novelist in 2017. He holds a PhD in art history focused on the sculptor Jacob Epstein. Cronshaw writes in a style he calls "nobledark" fiction, pairing morally complex, character-driven storytelling with an underlying sense of hope, citing Robin Hobb, Michael J. Sullivan, and Scott Lynch as influences. His major series include the Ravenglass Chronicles, an epic fantasy world built around bonded wyverns and imperial conflict, and the post-apocalyptic Wasteland series, following wandering knights and wizards through a ruined future world. He lives in Morecambe, England, with his family and guide dog, and hosts an author-focused podcast called Author Diary.
