Jon Steele is an American author born in 1950 in Spokane, Washington, who spent decades as a television news cameraman covering conflicts worldwide; his work is the subject of the documentaries Reporters at War (2004) and Under Fire: Journalists in Combat (2012), and his footage of the Iraq War troop surge became the award-winning documentary series Baker Boys: Inside the Surge (2010).
